Middle and High School Science Teacher, Middle School Girls Bible

Background: My husband James has been the pastor at Calvary Baptist in Harford, N.Y.
since 1998. We were both saved in college and Jim has held various pastoral positions,
since our marriage in 1975, here in N.Y., Michigan, and Kentucky. We have three sons,
all married to fellow graduates of Pensacola Christian College. We have 9 grandchildren
and two on the way.

I home schooled my sons for a total of four years and taught middle school classes (all
subjects including music and choir) in Kentucky for three years. Teaching is my passion
and my spiritual gift from God. I care deeply about the students’ character development,
their integrity, academic and spiritual growth; and their social skills. My prayer for each
one is to realize the full potential that God has given them, and to love the LORD with all
their heart, soul, strength, and mind. Our Christian school is uniquely poised due to our
faculty, staff, and student body to be the place where these things can be nurtured in each
willing heart.

Education: I have been teaching here at C.C.A. since 1995, covering a wide range of
junior and senior high subjects. I am primarily the science teacher, but I also have taught math;
and in the past have taught English, Bible, health, study skills, facilitator for LINC
French; and directed the high school choir from 1998 to 2010. During my time at C.C.A.,
I have been named to Merit’s Who’s Who of America’s Teachers for three years, and
also won a National Distinguished Teachers Award.

Favorite Verse: My favorite verse in Scripture has always been John 14:6, “ … I am the
way, the truth, and the life. No one comes unto the Father except through Me.” NKJV
It is my salvation verse and my life verse since it reminds me that Jesus is my all in all.
My hobbies are reading, gardening, playing clarinet with the Old Timers’ Band, and
spending time with my precious grandchildren.
